12:05 Monday (Feb 5). Reports are coming in of armed police at Heol Elfed in Llanelli. The incident is believed to have started at around 11:30pm. Neighbours reported hearing shouting and arguing. We were told by an eye witness that the street in Llwynhendy was sealed off with eight police cars and two vans in attendance. Neighbours were warned to stay indoors because there was “an incident ” attended by armed officers. One resident, who asked not to be named told Llanelli Online: “It was frightening. I’m shaking it’s really worrying. We don’t know if it’s a drugs raid or violence. Police were everywhere and blocked the road off. I could hear arguing and shouting. I had a shock, there were five police cars, then more came and vans. It’s police only, I haven’t seen any ambulances. It’s still ongoing at this moment. Two police officers were standing in the middle of the road with dogs.”

12:47 Our reporter Iwan Lewis is at the scene. He reports that there is still a police presence although the operation appears to have been scaled down.
Another resident told Llanelli Online: “I was woken up at about 11:15. My family heard banging and shouting. Police vans and cars were out on the road at the time. It went on and on. Eight police cars turned up. Armed response officers and sniffer dogs also arrived. The road was blocked off at both ends. While we were outside the armed police told us to go back inside.
“Some of the police were wearing head torches and two police officers were standing in the middle of the road with dogs. It looked like they were entering a house. There were no ambulances there.
“This is the first time we have seen anything like this on our street. It was quite a shock and quite worrying to see armed police. Other residents gathered outside to see what was going on. By 12.30am the police started to go.”
UPDATE: Monday (Feb 5) 14:50 Dyfed-Powys Police issued the following statement: “Dyfed-Powys Police received a report of a man breaching his bail conditions at Heol Elfed at around 9.40pm yesterday (Sunday 4 February). A 31-year-old man was arrested at 5.30am today (Monday 5 February) on suspicion of breach of bail and is due to appear at court this afternoon.”
