A 29-year-old man appeared before Llanelli Magistrates Court on Monday (Feb 12) charged with one count of robbery, possession of a bladed article in a public place and assaulting a police officer.
The charges were brought as a result of a protracted incident in Sandy Road between approximately 12.50am on Saturday morning (Feb 10) and 6.30am the same morning.
In a statement issued by Dyfed-Powys Police they said: “A male victim reported that he’d been threatened with a knife and money removed from his wallet. The victim had left the property uninjured. The police response included firearms officers due to the nature of the threat and in order to ensure the safety of all at the scene.”
Jamie Jordan Lee pleaded not guilty to the three charges. He claimed that he did not steal money and had made no threat towards the victim.
The court heard how Lee had allegedly held a knife to the neck of his victim on Sandy Road and that armed police who responded had to taser Lee. The court were told that Lee had allegedly kicked out at police and assaulted an officer.
Following the court hearing Lee was remanded in custody. He will appear at Swansea Crown Court on 16th March.
