Armed police officers attended an incident in Mill Street Carmarthen on Sunday (Oct 1).
Commenting on the incident Inspector Paul Williams said: “Dyfed-Powys Police officers supported by officers from the Joint Firearms Unit have attended at a property in Mill St, Carmarthen tonight. A 44 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm at the property, and is now in police custody.
This action followed a report that a man had been assaulted at a property in Mill St earlier today, and sustained burn type injuries. He was subsequently conveyed to Morriston Hospital where he remains for treatment. The safety of officers and all those at the scene was the priority at all times. We are pleased the action was carried out without incident, and there is no need for further concern in the area. An investigation is underway into the assault.”
