A choir from Llanelli has gone through to the next stages of Britain’s Got Talent after appearing on the show on Saturday (May 13). The choir ‘Angelicus Celtis’ wowed the judges and the audience with their rendition of Nessun Dorma. The choir received a standing ovation and their performance led judge Simon Cowell to say “I have heard this song a lot but this was in my opinion the most beautiful incredible version of the song. It touched me, I thought it was sensational. I am really excited for your future.” Judge Amanda Holden said: “You are the most lovely bunch of girls. I thought it was a stunning performance. You did Wales proud”.
Choir master Hywel Williams was in the audience and looked to have shed a tear or two as the comments were relayed to the girls. Just before their performance the girls told the judges that Mr Williams had been involved in a car crash but that he was on the road to recovery. Simon Cowell invited Hywel Williams up to the stage and asked how he was before telling him that they were incredible.
The whole of Llanelli will be looking forward to their next appearance and hoping that they will progress to the finals.
