Llanelli's First For Hyperlocal News

The Met Office continues to issue the Amber weather warnings across the UK today.

Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 26 degrees at 5pm this evening (Tues 20th July).

The Met Office website also reminds people of the dangers of exposure to UV radiation and sunburn, which can increase the risk of skin cancer.

The public are encouraged to protect themselves against sunburn and exposure to UV radiation by following these simple tips:

Use sunscreen / suncream. A factor of 15+ is recommended and use liberally every 2 hours.

Spend time in the shade, especially between 11am and 3pm when the sun is at it’s strongest.

Cover up with loose-fitting clothing, hats and sunglasses to protect your eyes.
