UKIP Wales Health Spokesman Caroline Jones has expressed her shock and disappointment at a letter by hospital consultants that revealed safety risks in Welsh A&E departments.
The letter, penned by a group of emergency hospital consultants, outlined a catalogue of failures, noting that, “…plans have fallen well short of what was required to maintain adequate care for our patients”.
The letter goes on to state: “We have neither sufficient staff nor sufficient beds to cope with the needs of an ageing population”.
Caroline Jones AM commented: “This letter by emergency hospital consultants should serve as a wake-up call to the Welsh Government. I am shocked and disappointed by it.
Action must be taken at the earliest opportunity, and I will be writing to Cabinet Secretary Vaughan Gething to highlight my concerns.”
