A 73-year-old woman from Burry Port has been fined for failing to stop following a road traffic accident.
Mrs Sandra Jean Harvey of Pwll Road, Burry Port appeared before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court facing three separate charges.
The court heard that on 29/10/2020 at Llanelli Harvey was driving a Renault Clio vehicle along Pwll Road and was involved in an accident whereby damage was caused to another vehicle and failed to stop failed to stop Contrary to section 170(4) of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and Schedule 2 to the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988
The court heard that Harvey had not given her name and address when asked to and failed to report the accident within 24 hours Contrary to section 170(4) of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and Schedule 2 to the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.
Further; the court heard that Harvey had driven the Renault Clio after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in her blood, namely 175 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, exceeded the prescribed limit. Contrary to section 5(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and Schedule 2 to the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.
Harvey pleaded guilty to the three charges.
She was fined a total of £373 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £37 and costs of £85.00.

Harvey was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 18 months.
