A 52-year-old man has been arrested following an incident at Gorlas which involved two car fires.

A spokesman for Dyfed Powys Police said: “We were alerted to two car fires in the Gorslas area on Monday (Nov 5).

“A 52-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson and released on police bail with conditions.”

Images of the incident recorded on CCTV were posted on social media along with comments supporting the victims.

One Facebook comment said: “That is terrible. Hope everyone is okay.”

Another comment said: “That’s absolutely disgusting. What on earth is wrong with some people?”

A spokesperson for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “On Monday (Nov 5) at 07:53pm, firefighters from Ammanford attended a vehicle fire on Black Lion Road, Gorslas.

“Crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet and breathing apparatus. The Police were also in attendance.

“The Fire Service left the incident at 08:22pm.”
