DYFED-Powys Police is investigating an assault, which has left a woman in a serious condition in hospital.

In a statement issued today, Sunday (Nov 11) the force said: “We’re investigating an assault in Lampeter, which has left a woman in a serious condition in hospital.

“Ambulance responded to a call in the Bridge Street area of Lampeter, at around 6.00pm on Thursday, November 8.

“As a result, four Polish men from the Lampeter area have been arrested in relation to a serious assault. They remain in police custody.”

DCI Anthony Evans said: “We are conducting house to house enquiries in the local area to try to build up a picture of what happened in the lead up to this incident and the incident itself.

“I am appealing to anyone with information that could help the investigation, no matter how insignificant you may feel it is, please get in touch.

“We would particularly like to hear from Polish members of our community who may know the individuals involved and have relevant information.

“I would like to reassure the public that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.”
