THERE was no need to run too far to join the circus as the circus came to Llanelli Town Centre on Wednesday (Feb 21).

Ymlaen Llanelli’s Mandy Jenkins and her team had somehow attracted a whole host of circus folk to set up camp smack bang in the middle of town and by 12 midday a circle had formed which contained jugglers, balloon modellers, face painters, stilt walkers and a magician.

Not content to put on a circus in the centre of town they upped camp and headed for the town’s library to entertain the bookworms and anyone else who cared to pop up to the Atheneum Room, which for a short time became a home for tricks and laughter.

This was yet another ace card played by Ymlaen Llanelli – The BID in order to attract people to the town and it worked. Families with children of all ages turned up and enjoyed the entertainment and the taking part in the circus skills workshops.

There are more events planned as we head up to Easter and they can all be found her on Llanelli Online or at the website for Ymlaen Llanelli.
