POLICE are urging parents to be aware of their teenage children’s whereabouts, following reports a mass gathering is planned at a Llanelli quarry tonight (Friday, 4 September).

Gathering in large groups is still not allowed under coronavirus regulations, and officers are also concerned about the risk that comes with the underage drinking associated with these types of events.

We are putting resources in place in the area to move on large groups, and to help prevent them gathering in the first place.
Sergeant Ben Ashton, of Llanelli neighbourhood policing team said:

“Quarries and derelict buildings are extremely dangerous, and are no place for children.

“We would like to remind parents of their responsibilities to be aware of where their children are and what they are doing.

“Please remember it is also an offence to buy alcohol for anyone under the age of 18, and anyone caught doing so will be dealt with accordingly.”
