Red hot heat for runners at Coast Park Run

DAI Lenscap managed to miss the Irish ferry this morning and so he had to hot foot it by bicycle back to Llanelli to cover the latest and 71st Coast Park Run.

In between iced lollies and a few 99's, our Dai complete with Bermuda Shorts, Hawaian shirt and Panama hat managed to snap some of the people barmy enough to take to the asphalt on one of the hottest April days in decades, today, Saturday (Apr 21).

Carmarthen Town Mayor’s Fun Run 2018

THERE'S three weeks to go to the annual Carmarthen Town Mayor's Fun Run races.

The races take place in the town centre on Monday May 7, with a 10am start.

Last year’s event saw 768 runners taking part, a record for the fun run races in their current format.

This year will be the 37th running of the Carmarthen Mayor’s Fun Run races.

Last year’s feature 5K race was won by Thomas Jones of Carmarthen Harriers in a time of 16.56.

122 strong at Coast Parkrun #69

122 runners took part in the Llanelli Coast park run number 69 this morning, Saturday (April 7).

First of the male to complete the run was Andrew How from Hendre Lake running club with a time of 17 minutes and 30 seconds.

First of the female to finish was Sally Minchella in a time of 21 minutes and 59 seconds.

Runners celebrate Llyn Llech Owain’s 5th year park run

IT was event number 264 as 116 runners celebrated the Llyn Llech Owain's 5th birthday. It is the 7th park run to start in wales.

David Smith from Wolverhampton and Bliston AC came in first at 18.25

It was not an easy run in hard conditions with plenty of mud. All of the runners did exceptionally well.

Athletes brave the cold for 66th park run

126 runners braved the coldest run of 66 weeks on Saturday (Mar 17) at the Llanelli Coast Parkrun.

The gusting conditions kept the turn marshal very busy as they were continually blown away.

Dyfed Primary Schools Cross Country Championship attracts the crowds

DYFED primary school pupils and spectators once again turned out in their numbers on Thursday evening (Mar 15) at one of the most popular sporting events currently being held in Dyfed and West Wales in front of a packed house in Nantyci.

A total of over 1,400 runners from 75 Dyfed primary schools competed in the annual cross country championships at the United Counties Showground in Carmarthen, now in its 31st year organised by Hedydd Davies.

Last Coast Parkrun of 2017

Saturday (Dec 30) saw at least 131 runners taking part in the last Coast Parkrun of 2017 blowing the cobwebs away before 2018 arrived. Conditions were chilly but dry, which appeared to suit GP John Collier who finished the run in 17mins 53 secs. John has taken part in the Llanelli Coast Parkrun on several occasions.As the New Year gets underway the athletes will be looking ahead to more events and Llanelli Online will be there as always to bring you the photos courtesy of Byron Williams.
