26-year old man dies after being hit by train

A 26-year old man has died after being hit by a train on the line between Llanelli and Carmarthen.

The incident is said to have happened in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday (May 30) in Kidwelly.

There were reports at approximately 5am that a person had been struck by a train. Emergency services responded and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Train lines between Llanelli and Carmarthen blocked as person hit by train

UPDATE: Emergency services have dealt with the incident allowing the lines to be open between Llanelli and Carmarthen.

A normal service is expected to resume by 9pm this evening.

ALL train lines have been blocked for services between Carmarthen and Llanelli due to a person being hit by a train.

The incident occurred at a level crossing between Kidwelly and Pembrey/Burry Port.

Disruption is expected until 8pm this evening.

Llanelli Railway Station gets new waiting rooms

LLANELLI Railway Station has benefited rom a national fund for improving railway stations and now has two brand new waiting rooms.

Bethan Jelfs the Customer Services Director for Arriva Trains Wales said: "It is wonderful to have these facilities. We are always encouraging and want more people to use the trains.
