18-year-old arrested in connection with robbery of Llanelli pensioner

UPDATE: An 18-year-old man has been charged with robbery following the theft of a 76-year-old woman’s purse in Llanelli.

Jonathan Levi Edwards will appear before Llanelli Magistrates’ Courts this afternoon (16/5).

DYFED-Powys Police investigating the robbery of a 76-year-old woman in Llanelli have arrested an 18-year-old man.

Dyfed-Powys Police received a report that the victim’s purse had been stolen at around 9.15am on Sunday (May 13) in the Stafford Street area.


Welsh pensioners entering care £10k better off

THE Welsh Assembly Government have announced that people entering residential care in Wales will be allowed to keep an extra £10,000 of their money from 2018.

The Welsh Assembly Government made the announcement today, Wednesday (Dec 6) that there would be  a new £40,000 threshold for assets before local authorities charge residents the full cost of their residential care.
