Jellitots graduates ‘move on up’

31-year-old male found deceased at Westbury Street

A 31-year-old male has been found dead in a lane between Westbury Street and Llys Y Drindod in Llanelli. The name of the man has not been released however, in a statement issued today Dyfed-Powys Police said:

"Dyfed-Powys Police was called to a lane between Westbury Street and Llys Y Drindod in Llanelli at 10.15am on Friday, July 13 following concerns for a man’s welfare.

"Sadly, a 31-year-old man was declared deceased at the scene.

Llanelli residents take bags of flies to public meeting

COUNCILLORS in the hotspot of the fly infestation in Llanelli have said that residents are angry and frustrated over the lack of answers and the failure of the local authority and Dwr Cymru to attend the public meeting held at the Seaside sports and social club this evening, Monday (Jun 4). Dwr Cymru maintain that they did not receive an invite to attend the meeting.

The venue was packed to capacity with a number of members of the public bringing along bags full of flies.


Granby Close Fire Update: Dog rescued at scene

TWO fire crews were called to tackle a fire at a block of flats in Granby Close this evening, Monday (Jan 8).

The fire was confined to a bedroom. There were no reports of any injuries. A dog was rescued from the flats and was said to be doing fine.

Granby Close fire aftermath

LLANELLI Online went to the scene of the fire at Granby close today, Friday (Nov 24).

There was a huge amount of damage clearly visible with the centre of the fire appearing to have been situated in the stair-well of the building.

Broken windows were clearly visible and the smell of smoke still hung heavy in the air. The area has been cordoned off with police tape and there is still a police presence at the site.

10-year-old Tia saves the day at Granby Close

TEN -year-old Tia Hughes saved the day with her quick reactions when she spotted smoke coming from a block of flats at Granby Close in Llanelli.

Tia ran as quick as she could to alert her family, Christian, her cousin Luke (23) and father Daniel (33).

Tia's father Daniel said: "If it hadn't been for Tia things could have been a lot worse.  She ran down to my house screaming."

Emergency services dealing with fire at Granby Close

AT least five fire crews are reported to be dealing with a fire at Granby Close in Llanelli. One eye witness told Llanelli Online that at least one person was rescued from the blaze and two people are suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation. These are unconfirmed reports.
