Man airlifted to hospital following ‘public disorder’ incident on New Dock Rd

A public disorder occurred in the vicinity of New Dock Road and Stanley Street area this afternoon, Sunday (May 20), which resulted in a man being injured and airlifted to hospital. He is currently in a stable condition.

The incident happened at around 3.20pm. Police received a report of a group of men fighting.

Police attend ‘altercation’ at Stepney Street

DYFED-Powys Police attended Stepney Street in Llanelli on Friday (May 11) after a report of a verbal altercation between ten men.

A bystander informed Llanelli Online that at least two police vehicles went along John Street at speed in the opposite direction to the flow of traffic with it being a one way street.

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Police received a report at 11.17am that a disorder involving approximately 10 men was taking place in Stepney Street Llanelli....

Body found in Burry Port in search for missing man

A body has been found in Burry Port during the search for a missing man on Saturday (May 12).

The body has not been formally identified at this time. The family have been made aware of the development and are being supported by a Family Liaison Officer.

H.M Coroner advised.

Police attend incident at Maesyfelin in Pontyberem

DYFED-Powys Police attended an incident at Maesyfelin in Pontyberem on Tuesday (May 9).

Residents in the area contacted Llanelli Online and said that there were around six police vehicles outside a property in Maesyfelin.

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "Police were called to Maesyfelin in Pontyberem following concerns for the welfare of a man believed to be inside a property.

"It was established that he was not at the address at the time."

Train lines between Llanelli and Carmarthen blocked as person hit by train

UPDATE: Emergency services have dealt with the incident allowing the lines to be open between Llanelli and Carmarthen.

A normal service is expected to resume by 9pm this evening.

ALL train lines have been blocked for services between Carmarthen and Llanelli due to a person being hit by a train.

The incident occurred at a level crossing between Kidwelly and Pembrey/Burry Port.

Disruption is expected until 8pm this evening.

Police attend incident at Llanelli Station

REPORTS of a man in distress at Llanelli train station prompted a police response on Tuesday (Mar 13).

Dyfed-Powys Police received a report of a man in mental distress at approximately 7pm.

Officers attended at Great Western Crescent. The man was safely detained without incident and was conveyed to hospital for assessment.

£2000 damage to car caused by wire cable stretched across Heol Llanelli

POLICE are appealing for information about a dangerous Trimsaran incident which caused £2000 of damage to a car.

On Monday, January 22, Dyfed-Powys Police received a report that sometime between 5pm and 6.30pm on Sunday, January 14 a car was damaged after driving into a wire/cable which was stretched across the road, secured by bollards, at Heol Llanelli.

Police have since seized the wire as evidence.

Anyone with information is urged to report it to PC Cath Edwards by phoning 101.

Granby Close fire aftermath

LLANELLI Online went to the scene of the fire at Granby close today, Friday (Nov 24).

There was a huge amount of damage clearly visible with the centre of the fire appearing to have been situated in the stair-well of the building.

Broken windows were clearly visible and the smell of smoke still hung heavy in the air. The area has been cordoned off with police tape and there is still a police presence at the site.

Police dealing with incident in Llanelli

Approximately 10:30 first reports of incident in town centre.

Bystanders contacted Llanelli Online to report a number of police and emergency services vehicles in the town centre and a road closure in operation. These are unconfirmed reports. We have a reporter on the way to the area. We will bring you more information as it comes in. We have been informed that a fire has broken out and that part of the town has been hit by a power cut. Again, these are unconfirmed reports.


Thomas Street Incident


Emergency services are attending an incident on Thomas Street in Llanelli.

Four police cars and one ambulance have been in attendance.

Staff at the Thomas Arms Hotel said that the accident occurred at approximately 5pm, at least one person could be seen lying in the road. The traffic tailbacks down through the West End, Thomas Street and Gelli-On.
