ON Monday July 23 at 12:00pm on the Mudiad Meithrin stand (FOR735) at the Royal Welsh Showground, Llanelwedd, pop star Ian ‘H’ Watkins, a member of the group Steps, and the versatile Welsh-language writer and performer Caryl Parry Jones will launch the second year of the national learning programme, ‘Clwb Cwtsh.’

A Walking Treasure Hunt for all ages comes to Pontyates on Saturday (Jul 14).

It begins at 2pm at the Welfare Hall and costs £3 per adult with children aged under 11 for free.

Pembrey & Burry Port Carnival


THE 2018 Pembrey and Burry Port Carnival takes place this Saturday (July 7) at the Marina Fields in Burry Port Harbour.

On the day there will be a bunch of activities including a Pirate Stunt Show, live music from Leroy and Firewater, stalls, food and bar.

The parade will depart from Dyfatty at 1pm.

Tickets are priced at £3 for adults and £1 for children and O.A.P's.

Cylch Meithrin Felinfoel wins Wales’ first Gold Star Standard Award

ON Friday 6 July (1.15pm) Cylch Meithrin Felinfoel near Llanelli will celebrate being the first Cylch Meithrin in Wales to attain Mudiad Meithrin’s Gold Star standard in its new quality mark scheme.

ON July 5th around 200 people including local businesses people and school children will run a 1 mile circular route through Llanelli Town Centre to raise the profile of Welsh as a living language of Wales.

Bont’s Carnival capers attracts the crowds

THE crowds turned out in force to support the 50th Hendy, Pontarddulais and District Carnival 2018 on Saturday (Jun 23).
