9000ltrs of milk spilled after RTA involving Milk Tanker

EMERGENCY services responded to a Road Traffic Accident on the B4342 near Mydroliyn on Monday (Jul 16).

The single-vehicle accident involved a Milk Tanker and resulted in the road closure after 9000ltrs of milk was spilled across the road.

A spokesperson for MAWWFRS said: "On Monday, 16/07/2018 at 12:40pm, crews from New Quay and Aberaeron, along with an Environmental Unit from Llanelli, attended a road traffic collision, involving one heavy goods vehicle, in Mydroilyn.

MAWWFRS issue update on Burry Port grass fire

MAWWFRS have issued an update on the grass fire which occurred at Burry Port yesterday, Wednesday (July 4):

On Wednesday, 04/07/2018 at 04:50pm, crews from Llanelli attended a grass fire in Burry Port.

Approximately 1.5 acres of grassland was on fire and extinguished by firefighters using a hose reel jet, two knapsack sprayers and beaters.

The Fire Service left the incident at 05:33pm.

Emergency services attend collision in Llanelli

EMERGENCY services responded to a collision in Llanelli yesterday, Wednesday (May 30).

One vehicle had collided with the traffic lights at the junction of Church Street, Gelli Onn and Hall Street at around 4:50pm.

Recovery was required for the vehicle and the road was cleared by 5.45pm.

Police, fire crews and the ambulance service attended the scene.

Granby Close Fire Update: Dog rescued at scene

TWO fire crews were called to tackle a fire at a block of flats in Granby Close this evening, Monday (Jan 8).

The fire was confined to a bedroom. There were no reports of any injuries. A dog was rescued from the flats and was said to be doing fine.

Granby Close fire aftermath

LLANELLI Online went to the scene of the fire at Granby close today, Friday (Nov 24).

There was a huge amount of damage clearly visible with the centre of the fire appearing to have been situated in the stair-well of the building.

Broken windows were clearly visible and the smell of smoke still hung heavy in the air. The area has been cordoned off with police tape and there is still a police presence at the site.

10-year-old Tia saves the day at Granby Close

TEN -year-old Tia Hughes saved the day with her quick reactions when she spotted smoke coming from a block of flats at Granby Close in Llanelli.

Tia ran as quick as she could to alert her family, Christian, her cousin Luke (23) and father Daniel (33).

Tia's father Daniel said: "If it hadn't been for Tia things could have been a lot worse.  She ran down to my house screaming."

Town power supply cut as fire takes hold at Ty Elwyn

The Emergency services were called out to an incident in Llanelli Town Centre late in the evening of Monday (Nov 13). At approximately 10:20 pm Llanelli Online received a call to say that police had closed off roads around the Ty Elwyn and that the fire service and an ambulance crew were in attendance.

Library incident update

On Monday, October 16, the emergency services attended an incident at Llanelli Library at around 5pm.

Four ambulances and 1 police cars were at the scene. We contacted the emergency services for a statement.

A man was found collapsed in the toilets and was taken to hospital for treatment.
