Police step up presence in Carmarthen following reports of two assaults

DYFED-Powys Police are investigating reports of two assaults in Carmarthen last night, Sunday (Jul 15).

Officers were called to the town centre at 11.35pm, with reports of an incident in Lammas Street and another at Cambrian Place.

Six people were reported to have been assaulted. One man is currently in hospital in a stable condition, undergoing precautionary tests.

Cows cause A40 in Carmarthen to close

THE A40 Westbound in Carmarthen was temporary closed due to cows on the dual carriageway.

The closure was from the roundabout near the B&Q store.

Dyfed-Powys Police advised people to avoid the area if possible.

The road has since opened again however traffic is moving very slowly in the area.

77-year-old woman assaulted outside Tesco Carmarthen

DYFED-Powys Police is appealing for information following the assault of a 77-year-old woman outside Tesco in Carmarthen on Tuesday, June 12.

At around 1.20pm there was a verbal altercation, which resulted in the victim receiving a punch to the nose causing a cut and minor injuries.

The suspect was a young woman who was slim and had short dark hair. She was driving a dark grey Vauxhall car.
