Granby Close Fire Update: Dog rescued at scene

TWO fire crews were called to tackle a fire at a block of flats in Granby Close this evening, Monday (Jan 8).

The fire was confined to a bedroom. There were no reports of any injuries. A dog was rescued from the flats and was said to be doing fine.

10-year-old Tia saves the day at Granby Close

TEN -year-old Tia Hughes saved the day with her quick reactions when she spotted smoke coming from a block of flats at Granby Close in Llanelli.

Tia ran as quick as she could to alert her family, Christian, her cousin Luke (23) and father Daniel (33).

Tia's father Daniel said: "If it hadn't been for Tia things could have been a lot worse.  She ran down to my house screaming."

Emergency services dealing with fire at Granby Close

AT least five fire crews are reported to be dealing with a fire at Granby Close in Llanelli. Town power supply cut as fire takes hold at Ty Elwyn

The Emergency services were called out to an incident in Llanelli Town Centre late in the evening of Monday (Nov 13). At approximately 10:20 pm Llanelli Online received a call to say that police had closed off roads around the Ty Elwyn and that the fire service and an ambulance crew were in attendance.

Police dealing with incident in Llanelli

Approximately 10:30 first reports of incident in town centre.

Bystanders contacted Llanelli Online to report a number of police and emergency services vehicles in the town centre and a road closure in operation. These are unconfirmed reports. THE future looks bright for the Scarlets as their Pro14 winning coach Wayne Pivac looks set to remain at the Scarlets.

Thomas Street Incident


Emergency services are attending an incident on Thomas Street in Llanelli.

Four police cars and one ambulance have been in attendance.

Staff at the Thomas Arms Hotel said that the accident occurred at approximately 5pm, at least one person could be seen lying in the road. The traffic tailbacks down through the West End, Thomas Street and Gelli-On.

£8k worth of Cannabis seized in Llanelli

Carmarthenshire Targeting Team yesterday, Monday, 23 October seized cannabis estimated to be worth £8,000.

Police detectives and uniformed officers stopped a car in Bynea and initially found 500g cannabis resin, with a street value of around £5,000, hidden under a seat.
