A 26-year-old Swansea man has been found guilty of assaulting two police constables in the execution of their duty.

Jonathan Lee Robson Ettrick of Ynyswen, Penycai, Swansea appeared before Carmarthenshire Magistrates’ Court sitting at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on 26/09/2018 charged with 5 offences including an assault on a police constable.

The court heard that on Tuesday 4th September 2018 at High street, Ammanford Ettrick assaulted Gavin Leyshon a constable in the execution of his duty Contrary to section 89(1) of the Police Act 1996 and that on On Tuesday 4th September 2018 at High street, Ammanford in the county of Carmarthenshire assaulted Phillip Watkins a constable in the execution of his duty Contrary to section 89(1) of the Police Act 1996.

The court heard that on On Tuesday 4th September 2018 at High street Ammanford in the county of Carmarthenshire Ettrick had used threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment and that on Tuesday 4th September 2018 at High street Ammanford in the county of Carmarthenshire he had resisted Gavin Leyshon a constable in the execution of his duty Contrary to Section 89(2) of the Police Act 1996.

The court also heard that on 04/09/2018 at Ammanford Ettrick had assaulted a woman by beating her Contrary to section 39 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988.

Ettrick pleaded guilty to all 5 charges and he was made subject of a 30 day community order. Ettrick was ordered to pay compensation to his victims totalling £350 as well as a victim surcharge of £85 and costs of £85.
