DWR Cymru Welsh Water have made a statement on the RainScape works at Bigyn Park Terrace in Llanelli.
A spokesperson for Dwr Cymru Welsh Water’s RainScape project said: “We’re currently installing new pipework in Marsh Street which will divert rain water away from our sewer to help tackle the flooding which can affect the area during heavy rain. The work forms part of our ongoing RainScape project in Emma Street and the surrounding area.
“As part of our work, we’re going to need to have a temporary rolling road closure on Bigyn Park Terrace from July 25 in order to protect the safety of our customers, motorists, and our workforce.
“We will be working in sections from the entrance to Bigyn Primary School down to the junction with Talbot Street, and will reinstate and reopen completed sections of the road as we progress. We’re hoping to get the majority of this work completed by the end of the summer holidays and will be adding more resources to give us the best chance of completing the work within that timescale.
“Following this, we’ll be moving into Hick Street and will be working our way up to just before the junction with Talbot Street.
“We will reopen the road and have a give and take traffic management system in place, when the road is wide enough for us to do so.
“We know that our work can be disruptive so we want to thank our customers for bearing with us while we carry out this essential work.
“Our work will help to reduce sewer flooding and protect the environment, helping to create a cleaner, greener place to live.
