SAVE Llanerch recreational playing field campaigners say that they have been boosted by the support of the Llanelli Town and Rural Council following a Curry Night at the Masala in West End on Thursday (Sep 6).
Campaigner Heather Peters said: “It was a very popular event with both floors of the restaurant in use. Despite the failure of the village green application the support for the cause grows stronger with both the Town and Rural Mayoral parties in attendance along with many other councillors.”
The campaigners have been busy organising fund raising events since their battle to save the filed began. Earlier in August put on an afternoon tea and cookery demonstration featuring Masterchef Finalist Louise Craig at Llanerch hall.
Campaigners have several other fundraising events planned with an Ed Sheeran Tribute on September 10th at the Selwyn Samuel Centre and a very special Christmas themed event also in the planning stage.
Heather Peters said: “We believe that if Llanelli were in the hands of our town and rural council we would not be fighting to maintain our recreational playing field and we value their and many county councillors continued support.”
