BURRY Port welcomed Llandeilo as visitors to the Memorial Park today, Saturday (Oct 27) the final game before Halloween.
On a gloriously sunny autumn day the home team were hoping for some halloween shock factor but it was the visitors who gave them a fright by taking the lead.
Burry Port had started as brightly as the day and the recent extensive work on the drainage of the pitch made for perfect playing conditions.
Both teams got into the Halloween spirit wearing red socks but the referee in his wizardly wisdom made Burry Port hang up the red and opt for blue.
Llandeilo came to play and gave the home side plenty of problems for a spell, but Burry Port managed to hang on and keep the score at 0-1 at half time.
It wasn’t until midway through the second half that lightning struck and Sam Sear belted home a monster strike from 25 yards out to make the scores level.
Despite the best efforts of both sides to complete a hatchet job the game ended Burry Port 1 – 1 Llandeilo
