ON July 5th around 200 people including local businesses people and school children will run a 1 mile circular route through Llanelli Town Centre to raise the profile of Welsh as a living language of Wales.
Ras yr iaith is not a competitive race for athletes, Ras yr Iaith is a race for the Welsh language by the Welsh people. It’s purpose is to celebrate the Welsh Language which is over 2000 years old and existed before the English Language developed centuries later.
Ras yr iaith is open for anybody to take part in the run through Llanelli Town Centre to raise awareness and show confidence in the living language we have here in Wales.
We encourage everybody to come along to support or even take part. We are looking for local people to support on the event by stewarding at the route or local businesses or community groups can support by sponsoring £50 towards the event.
The event starts at the Sunken Gardens Llanelli on the 5th of July starting at 2pm
