UPDATE: Dyfed-Powys Police is continuing to appeal for information about a serious collision on the A485 at Olmarch which occurred yesterday morning (Friday, May 4).

Sadly, we can confirm that 11-year-old Tristan Silver, of the Tregaron area, died as a result of the collision. Our thoughts are with his family, who are being supported by specialist officers.

A 28-year-old woman and another child were also taken to hospital. Their injuries are not life-threatening.

The collision involved a blue Subaru Legacy Outback and a black Mitsubishi Shogun 4×4, towing a livestock trailer, and occurred sometime before 8.50am between Llangybi and Tregaron.

The blue Subaru was travelling towards Lampeter, while the black Mitsubishi, towing the livestock trailer, was travelling towards Tregaron.

The driver and passenger of the Mitsubishi sustained minor injuries.

DYFED-Powys Police is appealing for information about a serious road traffic collision on the A485 at Olmarch, which has left a child with life threatening injuries.

A blue Subaru Legacy Outback and a black Mitsubishi Shogun 4×4, towing a livestock trailer, collided head-on sometime before 8.50am today (May 4) between Llangybi and Tregaron.

The driver of the car – a 28-year-old woman – and her two children were taken to hospital. One of the children was airlifted to with life threatening injuries.

The driver and passenger of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries. No animals were injured.

The blue Subaru was travelling towards Lampeter, while the black Mitsubishi, towing the livestock trailer, was travelling towards Tregaron.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or was driving along the road around the time, is asked to contact Ceredigion Roads Policing Unit by calling 101.
