IT was a one-sided display of rugby league at Stebonheath Park on Saturday (May 19) if you were supporting the West Wales Raider as Oldham eased past the West Wales Raiders 74 – 0.

Backed by a lot of vocal away support, Oldham out-performed the home side in every department to record the dominant victory.

For the young Raiders side, they are yet to pick up a victory this season and remain bottom of the Betfred League 1 table.

Oldham took full advantage of the great conditions by throwing the ball around and playing some great running rugby. The Raiders did have a number of attacking phases but couldn’t manage to get over the line.

Speaking to Llanelli Online, Oldham head coach Scott Naylor said that the opposition have had difficulty recently but are heading in the right direction.

He said: “It must be difficult for them. They have played against top class teams. It is one of those things where they will feel down when walking off the pitch but everybody hopes that they carry on and that the lads will stick with it.

“Hopefully they can get that one performance or win that can kick start them”.

The West Wales Raiders will travel to West Yorkshire next Sunday (May 27) to face Hunslet.
