MUDIAD Meithrin has announced the short-list for nominations for its annual Awards Ceremony which celebrates and recognises all the excellent work at its provisions all over Wales.

The announcement comes three months to the day before the Awards Ceremony is held at The Great Hall, University Campus, Aberystwyth on Friday October 19th.

Mudiad Meithrin has received more than 350 nominations for staff and volunteers at Cylchoedd Meithrin (Welsh-medium playgroups), Cylchoedd Ti a Fi (Welsh-medium baby and toddler groups) or Day Nurseries to win an award in 11 different categories this year.

Leanne Marsh, Head of Services Development for Mudiad Meithrin said:

“The Awards Ceremony gives Mudiad Meithrin an opportunity to recognise and thank the staff and volunteers at grassroots level.  Everyone had an opportunity to nominate a Cylch Meithrin, Cylch Ti a Fi or a Day Nursery for an award in one of 11 categories.”

The awards adjudication panel met at the end of May before choosing the top three in each category (see the information below) an inviting the nominees to attend this special ceremony, which is being held for the third time, following the sweeping success of the ceremonies held in the previous two years.

Dr Gwenllïan Lansdown Davies, Mudiad Meithrin’s Chief Executive, said:

“We were hoping that many would see this as an opportunity for a Welsh-medium early years setting in their area to be recognised for its work and we’ve had hundreds of nominations! It’s a lovely way for the staff and volunteers to be recognised by being nominated by the parents of the children in their care.”
