SIXTY Year 10 and 11 GCSE Geography pupils from Ysgol Glan-y-Môr have walked to the summit of Pen y Fan in memory of a long serving member of staff on Friday (Oct 19).
The walk was in memory of Miss Lynne Russell who sadly passed away during the summer.
All pupils wore items of pink clothing and every member of the group could be recognised by the pink bobble hat on their head, a colour linked to cancer research that they were walking in aid of.
The event was part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month with funds raised going to Cancer Research.
Mr Richard Davies said: “Miss Russell was a very special person and teacher and meant so much to us at Glan-y-Môr.
“She would have loved to have been with us today and I am so proud of the efforts of our pupils in pushing themselves to the top whilst also raising money for a great cause.
“It’s just another example of what makes Glan-y-Môr such a special school.”
