THE retailer Miss Label has closed their unit in the St Elli Centre.
The company have now closed five out of their six stores in the last six months.
A post on the Miss Label Facebook page by Gary Bailey said: “Sorry to say all Miss Label stores are now all closed, Bridgend store is now not Miss Label but still has clothing and Homeware you will love”
Some people took to social media to post their disappointment and shock that the store in Llanelli was shut down so quickly.
Jill Davies asked: “Where is all the stock home from Llanelli store ….it’s All shut up????”
Claire Jennings wrote: “No notice of closure or explanation….. odd.”
Michelle Turner wrote: “What a lovely shop had a lot of lovely things their was in Llanelli today and a lady ask me where I had my top said miss labels was gutted when I seen the shop was gone .”
Another person wrote that they had vouchers and asked where they could use them.
The downturn looks set to continue as retailers battle to attract shoppers against stiff competition from online retailers.
It appears that Poundworld have paused their restructuring plan after parent company TPG received expressions of interest and put the retailer up for sale.
The discount retailer was to seek creditor approval for a proposed company voluntary arrangement (CVA) that included plans to close up to 100 of its 355 stores, threatening hundreds of jobs.
