The community of Hendy is in shock tonight following the sad loss of local man 21-year-old Maximas Easey who had been reported missing since yesterday, Monday (Feb 12).
Residents reported seeing a large police presence including a police helicopter around Junction 48 of the M4 in Hendy at around 9pm on Monday (Feb 12).
Local people took to social media to offer help in finding Maximas. The focus of the search was on land near a footbridge crossing close to the M4.
The family of Maximas Easey posted an emotional tribute on social media, which has been added to by hundreds of people expressing their grief and sadness at their loss.
The tribute read:
Tonight as a family we lost our brother, best friend and a son. You closed your eyes for the last time. It still doesn’t feel real. We LOVE you so much and will forever I’ll never forget you please be at peace I love you so so much I wished you knew that I miss you already it hurts! Until we meet again.
Flowers have been placed outside Hendy rugby club and a vigil was held at the Hendy RFC playing field this evening, Tuesday (Feb 13).
Dyfed-Powys Police provided the following statement:
“Dyfed-Powys Police received a report of a 21-year-old man missing from his home in the Hendy area yesterday evening (February 12).
Sadly, he was found deceased a short while later. Our thoughts are with his family. His next of kin and HM coroner have been informed, and police are not treating the death as suspicious.”
