Dyfed-Powys Police have announced that a murder investigation is under way into the death of 19 -year-old Katrina Evemy. A 21-year-old man Dylan Hywel Harries was charged with attempted murder following the incident, but police now say they are treating it as murder.
A statement issued on the force’s Twitter page read:
It is with great sadness that Dyfed-Powys Police confirms the death of 19-year-old Katrina Evemy.
She had been in a critical condition in hospital since a serious incident at her Graig Avenue home in Llanelli on Thursday, April 13th. She died this morning (Wednesday, April 19) in the presence of her family.
Senior Investigating Officer DCI Ifan Charles said: “On behalf of Dyfed-Powys Police I extend deepest sympathies to the family of Katrina Evemy. Our specialist officers are continuing to support the family at this extremely difficult time.
“The death of Katrina means we are now investigating a murder.
“The investigation is on-going and all lines of enquiry are being followed.”

Ms Evemy’s family are being supported by Dyfed-Powys Police officers.
