WELSHMAN Geraint Thomas has signed a new three-year contract with Team Sky.
The 32-year-old, who secured the biggest victory of his career when he won this years Tour de France, has been with the team since its establishment in 2009.
Thomas had received offers from other teams with his previous contract set to expire at the end of 2018, however he has put pen to paper to remain in Sir Dave Brailsford’s team.
The Cardiff born rider is a double Olympic gold medallist and will continue to work alongside four-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome.
Both Thomas and Froome took part in the Tour of Britain which began last Sunday (Sep 2) at Pembrey Country Park in Llanelli.
