61P1 and 61P2 attended a substantial garage fire, thankfully no persons were harmed or neighbouring properties too badly damaged.

The fire was confined to a double garage, measuring 10 x 6 meters and destroyed by the fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire using four hose reel jets, one main jet and a thermal imaging camera.

The Fire Service conducted a thermal scanning of neighbouring properties and left the incident at 01:09am.

The fire service have advised that regardless of the size of the fire, call 999.

“We have special kit and equipment that keeps us safe when fighting a fire – never try to fight the fire yourselves. As well as the likelihood of being badly burned, the smoke and fire gasses given off can be incredibly harmful to your lungs when inhaled, leading to unconsciousness and therefore leaving you unable to escape the fire.”
