TRINITY Road, Llanelli was closed this morning, Monday (Feb 5) after a suspicious item was found during building work.
Dyfed-Powys Police sealed off the area and around 20 houses were evacuated as a precaution.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) safely removed the item, an old metal shell, and confirmed that there was no risk to the public.
Residents were safely returned to their homes.
