THE Emergency services were called to a house fire in Pembrey earlier this evening, Monday (Jun 11).

Some reports estimate that the fire started at around 8.00pm this evening.

There were reports of at least five fire crews in attendance. There was also a large police presence and police closed the road for a few hours while fire crews tackled the blaze.

The fire broke out at a derelict property on Lando Road and there were no reports of anyone being injured.

In a statement Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “On Monday, 11/06/2018 at 08:03pm, crews from Kidwelly, Llanelli, Pontyates and Tumble were called to a property fire in Lando Road, Pembrey.

“A semi-detached house, consisting of two floors and measuring approximately 15 x 10 meters, was completely destroyed by the fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire using two main jets, two hose reel jets, a 10.5-meter ladder and a thermal imaging camera.

“The stop message was received at 11:28pm.

“The incident is under investigation.”
