THE community of Dafen will come together on Sunday (Nov 4) to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice during WW1 and subsequent conflicts.

Local councillor Rob Evans has spearheaded the event along with George Parker of Parker Plant Hire and a number of community organisations.

The event will see a special concert taking place at the church followed by the unveiling of an interpretive board detailing the service of soldiers from Dafen during WW1 or The Great War as it is known.

Funds have also been raised to provide two special commemorative benches in the park.

Llanelli Online is working with the organisers to photograph and film the event on the day in order to produce a commemorative DVD.

Cllr Rob Evans said that he is expecting a big turnout on the day. Anyone wishing to attend should contact Cllr Evans.

More details of the event can be found in the following video.
