Health board apology after new-born dies in Glangwili Hospital

HYWEL Dda University Health Board has given an apology about the care and treatment given to a mother and her late son at Glangwili Hospital, Carmarthen.

A complaint by the parents to the health board was upheld by the Public Services Ombudsman for Wales, who pointed to a "host of failings" including that their son's death had been incorrectly registered as a stillbirth rather than a neonatal death.
