Llangennech’s Cracking Christmas Parade

THE annual Llangennech Christmas Fair and Parade took place on Saturday (Dec 9) and attracted hundreds of people to the village for festive family fun.

The day's proceedings began at 2pm, with activities catering for both the children and the adults. For the elders there were craft stalls and a live brass band filling the Community Centre with Christmas cheer. The children were spoilt for choice with Santa's Grotto, a bouncy castle, music and refreshments.

Former Royal Marine to climb Aconcaqua to raise money for veterans

A Carmarthenshire County Council employee is going to climb a mountain in the Andes in January to raise money to support Royal Marines, their families, veterans and cadets.

Dog warden Brendan Davies, who is a former Royal Marine, is climbing Aconcaqua with the 65˚ North organisation in January. He is the only person from Carmarthenshire doing the climb.
