Police attend incident at Maesyfelin in Pontyberem

DYFED-Powys Police attended an incident at Maesyfelin in Pontyberem on Tuesday (May 9).

Residents in the area contacted Llanelli Online and said that there were around six police vehicles outside a property in Maesyfelin.

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "Police were called to Maesyfelin in Pontyberem following concerns for the welfare of a man believed to be inside a property.

"It was established that he was not at the address at the time."

THE crowds gathered at Pontyberem Park yesterday Saturday (Feb 17) for the opening of the brand new children’s play area.

Late Tumble try secures derby victory at Ponty

A late try saw Tumble edge out Pontyberem 26-21 in a tight local derby at Pontyberem Park.

It was the home side who started strongly, with two tries from captain Adrian Williams giving them a 15-7 lead at half-time.

However three second half tries were enough for the visitors to bank a bonus-point win in muddy conditions in front of a large vocal crowd.

Investment in Ysgol Pontyberem

The first sod has been cut to mark the start of a £4million investment in Ysgol Pontyberem.

Work is being jointly funded by Carmarthenshire County Council and the Welsh Government’s 21st Century Schools programme to remodel and refurbish the school.
