Work to reinvest in CCTV across Carmarthenshire to start this month

THE contract has been awarded and work to reinvest in CCTV in 17 towns throughout Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Powys will start this month (July).

Dyfed-Powys Police has completed a thorough procurement process and has awarded the contract for the work to Baydale Control Systems Ltd. The hi-tech cameras are being supplied by Hikvision UK & Ireland.

Police appeal following theft of dumper truck at Old Pontrilas Factory Site

DYFED-Powys Police are appealing for information after an articulated Volvo dumper truck was stolen from the Old Pontrilas Factory Site.

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "Some time between 3pm on Saturday (Jul 7) and 7:45am (Jul 11) a yellow articulated Volvo dumper truck was stolen from the old Pontrilas Factory Site, North Dock. 

"If anyone has any information please call 101 and quote DPP/0007/11/07/2018/01/C."

Police arrest 16-year-old female in connection with Burry Port house fire

POLICE have arrested a 16-year-old in connection with a house fire at Mansel Street in Burry Port. Dyfed-Powys Police issued the following statement:

“Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating a house fire at Mansel St, Burry Port which was reported at 9.45am on Tuesday the 10th of July 2018.

Dedicated policing team shows commitment to Llanelli town centre

THESE police officers and PCSOs will soon become familiar faces to shoppers and businesses in Llanelli as Dyfed-Powys Police has created a dedicated town centre team.

‘Serious’ one vehicle RTC on A40 near Llandeilo

CARMARTHENSHIRE roads policing officers are dealing with a one vehicle, serious RTC on the A40 between Llandeilo and The Cottage Inn on that stretch.

It was reported at approximately 4.25pm this afternoon and it has been necessary to close the road.

It will be closed until further notice, which could be some time, so the advice is to please avoid the area.

26-year-old arrested in relation to 7 vehicle fires in Llanelli

DYFED-Powys Police is investigating a number of vehicle fires which occurred in Llanelli in the early hours of this morning, Friday (Jul 6).

Three vehicles in Heol Gwyr, Llanelli and four vehicles in Parc Pemberton were damaged by the fires.

The fires are being treated as suspicious and a 26 year old male has been arrested on suspicion of arson. He currently remains in police custody.

Police appeal following vehicle theft in Ammanford

DYFED-Powys Police are appealing for any sightings of a van which was stolen from Ammanford.

The white Ford Transit (registration number EX11 BMZ) was reported stolen from High Street, Ammanford, at 3.15pm on June 11.

It was last seen heading towards Betws Mountain, and towards Swansea.
