Llangennech ‘inert waste processing centre’ gets green light

Planning approval has been given for an inert waste processing centre at the former Morlais colliery on Pontarddulais Road, Llangennech following a meeting of the Planning Committee at County Hall on Tuesday, (Sep 5). Gorseinon secured the 2017 All Wales Sport Midweek League trophy by defeating Llangennech by 14 runs in a thrilling match at Llangennech Park on Friday (Aug 25).

Vandals destroy picnic benches at local beauty spot

A community woodland group from Llangennech have been angered by the latest incident of anti-social behaviour in their woods.

On the morning of Friday 14th of July, local volunteers from Troserch Woodland Society discovered the charred remains of one of their picnic benches which had been sacrificed for firewood by some unruly visitors to the woods. It is believed that the act took place late at night on Thursday 13th.
