Llanelli Town Centre Cultural Day is a corker

LLANELLI Town Centre was a centre of culture on Saturday (Mar 24) as people of all ages took part in the plethora of activities on offer.

Parking was free and as if by magic, they were all full. Who said free parking doesn't work?

The Royal British Legion Brass Band filled Stepney Square with live music ably directed by a very young and talented conductor.

Town juggles with Circus Skills as Ymlaen Llanelli event draws the crowds

THERE was no need to run too far to join the circus as the circus came to Llanelli Town Centre on Wednesday (Feb 21).

Ymlaen Llanelli's Mandy Jenkins and her team had somehow attracted a whole host of circus folk to set up camp smack bang in the middle of town and by 12 midday a circle had formed which contained jugglers, balloon modellers, face painters, stilt walkers and a magician.

Three popular Welsh comedians are planning to add extra mirth to the inaugural Merthyr Comedy Festival in April.

The ‘Comedy and  Cwtshes’ event at Dowlais Theatre will be held on Saturday, April 14.

Cor Curiad on song at Daffodil Ball

THE ladies of Cor Curiad continue to have a busy year as the all female group performed at the Daffodil Ball at the Stradey Park Hotel on Saturday (Feb 17).

The event raised funds for the Marie Curie charity, which supports people suffering with a terminal illness.

The singing group is made up of ladies of all ages, with the oldest being 87. Cor Curiad have been entertaining audiences with their unique style since 1995.
