15-month prison sentence for ‘prolific offender’ following Llanelli Play Centre burglary court case

A prolific offender who bought a car and a motorbike in the days following a burglary at a Llanelli children’s play centre has received a 15-month prison sentence for handling stolen goods.

David Richard Thomas Bastiman, aged 32, of Llwynhendy stood trial at Swansea Crown Court on Thursday, May 3. He was found not guilty of the burglary, which occurred at Play King in Dafen on November 27, 2017, but guilty of handling stolen goods.

Calfaria Chapel owner guilty in council prosecution

A CO-owner of Calfaria Chapel in Llanelli has been ordered to pay over £1,200 for failing to keep the Grade II Listed Building in a good condition.

Manos Mohan pleaded guilty at Llanelli Magistrates Court for an offence under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.

West Wales man sentenced to life in prison for sexual offences

A man from West Wales was today (April 27) sentenced at Swansea Crown Court to life imprisonment,  after being found guilty of sexual offences.

He will serve a minimum of 12 years in prison and will be forced to register as a sex offender for life.

Officers commended by judge for ‘colossal and exceptional investigation’ as Operation Ulysses court case concludes

THE Judge in the trial of what Dyfed-Powys Police have described as a 'Serious Sophisticated Organised Crime Group'  has commended a number of  the officers involved in 'Operation Ulysses' today, Tuesday (Mar 13) at Swansea Crown Court.

Speaking at the end of the trial, which has seen 28 members of the group handed down over 193 years in prison between them the judge commented that it was a  'colossal and exceptional investigation'.
