YOU couldn’t move for tinsel, glitter and elves this evening, Friday (Nov 30) as the people of Burry Port gathered for their annual Winter Parade.
Santa and Mrs Santa made an appearance as the parade gathered at Plas Y Mor before walking through the town to a carol service event at the Memorial Gardens before the official switch on of the lights.
Santa and Mrs Santa then hotfooted it to the Memorial Hall for a welcome hot chocolate before getting straight back to work making a lot of children happy and no doubt receiving innumerable lists of must haves.
Speaking to Llanelli Online County Councillor Amanda Fox a member of the Carnival Committee said: “The parade and the winter fayre has been yet another success. It was amazing.
A huge thank you to everybody who took part and to all those who lined the streets to watch the parade . The winners of best dressed were 1st place Ty Mair Family Centre 2nd – Burry Port Rugby Club Juniors and 3rd Beavers/cubs group . The community spirit was amazing yet again despite the weather.
