THE Mid and West Fire and Rescue Service have issued an update on the fire at a property on Mansel Street in Burry Port.

The statement reads;

“On Tuesday, 10/07/2018 at 09:27am, crews from Llanelli, Kidwelly and Gorseinon attended a property fire in Mansel Street, Burry Port.

“A detached property, measuring 10 meters x 15 meters, was well alight and extinguished by firefighters using four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, two thermal imaging cameras, one covering jet, a 10-meter ladder and a positive pressure ventilation fan.

“A female casualty was conveyed to hospital by the Ambulance Service.

“The Fire Service received a stop message at 11:42am.

“The incident is under Police and Fire investigation.”

There is still a police presence this evening and a blue tent has been erected outside of the property.
