THE new Leader of Plaid Cymru is Carmarthenshire East and Dinefwr’s AM Adam Price.
The incumbent leader Leanne Wood came last in the contest, which included Rhun Ap Iorwerth. She was elected as leader in 2012 and was the first female leader and first non fluent Welsh language speaker of the party.
It is understood that Adam Price took almost 50 per cent of the vote.
Adam Price has long campaigned for a more ambitious and independent Wales and has cited nations like Norway as inspirations for his Can Do’ vision for Wales. He has long campaigned for a Wales, which takes control of its own resources and its own workforce creating home grown industries to boost the economy.
