EMERGENCY services responded to a Road Traffic Accident on the B4342 near Mydroliyn on Monday (Jul 16).
The single-vehicle accident involved a Milk Tanker and resulted in the road closure after 9000ltrs of milk was spilled across the road.
A spokesperson for MAWWFRS said: “On Monday, 16/07/2018 at 12:40pm, crews from New Quay and Aberaeron, along with an Environmental Unit from Llanelli, attended a road traffic collision, involving one heavy goods vehicle, in Mydroilyn.
“One male casualty was released from the vehicle, prior to the arrival of the Fire Service, and conveyed to hospital by the Ambulance Service.
“The Fire Service left the incident with Natural Resources Wales and the Local Authority at 05:20pm.
“Milk is very harmful to the environment so firefighters worked with specialist equipment provided by 61H1 Environmental Protection Unit to bung drains and block roadway run off with booms. Absorbent granules were also used on the road surface.”
A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Dyfed-Powys Police received a call reporting an overturned milk tanker on the B4342 near Mydroilyn at 12.44pm on Monday (July 16).
“The road was closed while the tanker was righted.
“The driver sustained minor injuries.”
