RESIDENTS in Ponthenri have met with Llanelli MP Nia Griffith to air their concerns regarding traffic problems in the village. The meeting took place at Ponthenri Hall on Wednesday (Nov 8). The MP listened to the concerns of local residents and discussed ways in which traffic calming measures could be introduced. Residents complained about the speed of vehicles along the main road particularly along Myrtle Hill.

Measures discussed included introducing speed bumps, speed cameras and involving local school children in the process. Some residents claimed that they have been ignored and forgotten in relation to community provisions including local policing and recreational facilities.

Nia Griffith told the attendees that she would be contacting the rural and county council to address some of their concerns.
