Llanelli AM Lee Waters says that he is continuing to fight the closure of the DWP offices in Llanelli. Posting on the Save Llanelli DWP Facebook page today, Tuesday (Jul 4) the AM wrote: “I’ve just been speaking to the PCS General Secretary, alongside my AM colleague Eluned Morgan, ahead of tomorrow’s meeting. Everyone is expecting the Tories to press ahead with shutting our office, despite the offer by the Welsh Government to co-locate with its own services.
“When Nia (Nia Griffith MP) and I met the DWP Minister Damien Hinds before the election it was clear he wanted to go ahead with having fewer offices, and now he’s back in post.
“But the Tories don’t have a majority any more and we need to keep the pressure up because their plan will be a real blow to Llanelli.”
